Trama Un posto al sole
George Eastman, ragazzo di umili origini, ottiene lavoro in città grazie allo zio, un facoltoso industriale. Il giovane si innamora di Alice, un'operaia che ricambia il suo sentimento e i due intrecciano una relazione. In seguito George, desideroso di elevarsi dalla sua condizione, fa la conoscenza della bella Angela, un'ereditiera, ma nel frattempo Alice è incinta e gli chiede di sposarla. George, messo alle strette, pensa di organizzare un piano per ucciderla ma poi non ne ha il coraggio, ma comunque accade una tragedia e lui viene accusato di omicidio.
