Trama Un uomo tranquillo

Sean Thornton, ex pugile americano, torna nel piccolo villaggio irlandese dove è nato con il desiderio di ricominciare una nuova vita, lontano dal passato e dai riflettori. Nella campagna di Innisfree trova la pace che cercava e l’amore per la fiera e orgogliosa Mary Kate Danaher, sorella di un uomo dal carattere burbero e possessivo. Il ritorno alle radici, però, non sarà privo di ostacoli: tradizioni, orgoglio e vecchi rancori metteranno alla prova la determinazione di Sean, costringendolo a confrontarsi con se stesso e con la cultura di un mondo tanto affascinante quanto inflessibile.
