Trama The Lady in the Van

Londra, anni Ottanta. Lo scrittore Alan Bennett vive un'esistenza solitaria nel quartiere di Camden Town, dialogando unicamente con una versione immaginaria di se stesso. L'uomo si affeziona a Mary Shepherd, un'anziana senzatetto che abita all'interno di uno scassato furgoncino che sosta nel quartiere. Quando il mezzo rischia di essere rimosso per pubblico decoro, Bennett offre ospitalità nel suo vialetto a Mary, finendo per scoprire molti dettagli sul passato della donna.
