Trama Qualcosa di straordinario

Il reporter Adam Carlson è di servizio in Alaska e ogni giorno è alla ricerca di un argomento interessante da realizzare per i suoi ascoltatori, ma raramente trova qualcosa all'altezza delle aspettative. Un giorno scopre tre balene grigie della California che nuotano in un cratere de Circolo Polare Artico e le riprende, tanto che il video diventa virale in tutto il globo e in molti si prodigano per cercare di salvare i cetacei rimasti intrappolati. Tra questi vi è Rachel Kramer, attivista di Greenpeace che riesce a coinvolgere anche le forze armate nella disperata missione ambientalista.
