Trama Il ponte delle spie
James Donovan è un avvocato americano che ha, come cliente da difendere, un soldato sovietico, Rudolf, condannato inizialmente alla pena capitale e ridotta successivamente a trent'anni di reclusione. Durante l'iniziale periodo di carcere, James riceve una lettera dalla Russia, nel quale si propone uno scambio: Rudolf e la sua libertà in cambio di un militare americano tenuto in ostaggio dai sovietici stessi. Nonostante gli iniziali tentennamenti, l'affare viene concluso, ma James scoprirà, subito dopo, un inganno dietro l'angolo.
