Trama Il colore dei soldi

Eddie Felson era un campione del biliardo ma ora si è ritirato e commercia in liquori. Una sera in un locale nota un certo Vincent Lauria, un ragazzo che sembra possedere un grande talento e un carattere spaccone e che gli ricorda lui da giovane. Eddie gli propone di fargli da mentore, con gli incassi delle vittorie divisi tra loro, ma Vincent dovrà farne di strada per fare carriera. Insieme alla fidanzata del giovane, Carmen, intraprendono un viaggio on the road che porterà successo ma anche delusioni, al termine del quale ognuno di loro ritroverà il proprio posto nel mondo.
