Trama The Cell - La cellula

Catherine Deane, psicologa infantile, partecipa a un progetto sperimentale che permette di entrare nella mente dei pazienti. Lavora con Edward, un bambino in coma, ma i suoi tentativi di risvegliarlo falliscono, e i genitori danno un ultimatum. Nel frattempo, l'FBI cattura un serial killer, Carl Stagher, ma lo trova anch'esso in coma, mentre la sua ultima vittima è intrappolata in una cella che si riempirà d'acqua. Il detective Peter Kovak chiede a Catherine di penetrare nella mente del criminale per scoprire il luogo in cui è nascosta la ragazza, anche se il processo è ricco di pericoli.
