Trama Get Shorty
Chili Palmer è uno strozzino profondamente appassionato di cinema. Dopo la morte del suo boss Momo, Chili si trova ad affrontare Ray, un gangster nemico con il quale vi è un rapporto di astio: gli deve la somma di trecentomila dollari, da restituire nel minor tempo possibile. Chili si ritrova così a Las Vegas e recuperato il denaro decide di spenderlo invece nel nuovo progetto del regista Harry Zimm, anch'esso con dei debiti nei confronti della mafia. I due, con il fondamentale aiuto della bella Karen - attrice di film di serie b - cercheranno di ingaggiare nel ruolo del protagonista il famoso attore Martin Weir. Ma un ex-produttore, pure lui invischiato con la malavita, mette ulteriormente i bastoni tra le ruote.
