Trama Vertigine
La splendida Laura, che vive con uno scrittore di successo che ha assunto anche il ruolo di suo protettore, è finalmente entrata a far parte dell'alta società. La situazione prende una piega imprevista quando la donna si innamora di un dongiovanni, suscitando la gelosia. Un giorno viene ritrovato un corpo senza vita dal volto sfigurato e si pensa che questi sia quello di Laura. Le indagini vengono affidate al tenente di polizia Mark McPherson, che comincia a idealizzare la figura della vittima e anche soltanto attraverso il ritratto se ne innamora. Quando Laura ricompare improvvisamente, la vicenda prende una svolta imprevista.
