Trama Spy Game

1991. Cina e Stati Uniti sono prossimi a firmare un trattato commerciale che verrà siglato del presidente americano durante un suo viaggio in Asia. Ma proprio in quelle fasi cruciali la CIA viene a sapere di come Tom Bishop, uno dei suoi agenti, sia finito nelle mani nemiche e rinchiuso nel carcere di Suzhou, dove lo attende la condanna a morte. Il solo modo per evitare la pena capitale è una presa di posizione da parte del governo che risulta essere impossibile durante quelle ore così importanti politicamente. Viene allora contattato l'esperto Nathan Muir, prossimo alla pensione, per organizzare una missione disperata in una lotta contro il tempo.
