Trama Greystoke - La leggenda di Tarzan, il signore delle scimmie

In seguito ad un naufragio, l'aristocratico scozzese John Clayton e la moglie si ritrovano sperduti nell'Africa selvaggia. La donna, incinta, muore dando alla luce il bambino mentre l'uomo viene ucciso da una scimmia, con un'esemplare femmina che invece accudisce e cresce il piccolo. Vent'anni dopo il capitano Phillippe D'Arnot si imbatte in un ragazzo che crede di essere un primate, ben presto conosciuto come Tarzan.
